Buddy has been here for a week & a half now. So far this year he has:
Left us two Christmas DVDs (Tom & Jerry Paws For A Holiday and The Flinstones' Christmas Carol), a Hallmark ornament, a chocolate advent calendar, gold chocolate coins, mini chocolate Santas, Tootsie Rolls, mini M&Ms, small books for Grace and a few small toys.
Hidden in Mommy & Daddy's bedroom, swung from the hallway light fixture, nestled in the tree, dangled from the dining room plant hook, sat on the a/c unit, trapped himself in our glass-front kitchen cabinet, hidden in Andrew's room twice and the girls' room once.
He has also sprinkled sugar on Mommy's stove nightly, raided our sprinkle cabinet, gotten into the vanilla wafers, dyed our milk blue, re-hung everything on the fridge upside down and left behind a half-eaten banana-nut waffle.
This is the first year I've ever had to ask Buddy to leave. The kids were being so bad that I just couldn't have him stay. Not to worry. He returned a few hours later when he magically appeared in the Christmas tree. We only noticed his presence because an ornament fell at the same time he landed. Freaky.
Most magically, this is the year that Grace gets to know Buddy. She calls him "Bubby" and will point out his hiding spot if you stop by for a visit.
